Link Building

Link Building As with any link building strategy, what you should be looking for more than anything is not the link value that it passes (though that's good too) but what kind of traffic that the link will bring you.

There's a rumor out there in the publishing world that an editor won't even look at the work of a new writer. It might be true for certain types of writing, but after interviewing hundreds of editors, I've found that most are moreto new writers than you might think.

When I was young, I used to talk to myself. Long, drawn out, one-sided conversations. I didn’t have an imaginary friend, I just talked to myself. My mother says that’s why I became a writer: because of my overactive imagination.

The best clients are the busy clients. Why? Because they're the ones with successful businesses, so they have enough money to pay you. They're also the ones who are busy enough that they really need you.

There have been quite a few complaints from publishers about late or non payment from distributors and book stores. Some have stopped sending books to large distributors because of past due invoices, some over 180 days old.

How do you write a screenplay?

Frustrated by the creative writing process? No need to be anymore! This website was created to act as an online resource directory geared towards helping writers overcome the peaks and valleys of the creative process and complete their final draft!

Everyone has a story in their head, but the cream that rises to the top is the person who sits down and guts it out and completes their story into a finished screenplay. Writing a screenplay is not easy and this site doesn't propose to help you finish yours (only you can make that decision). What it will do is provide you with as many resources as necessary to help you accomplish your task.

What I've done with this site is break up the screenwriting process into 10 main resource categories for the writer. The first category is an explanation of what the term screenwriting means. Before you can know how to write a screenplay or complete your first major motion picture movie script you have to first know about the nature of the beast you are going to tackle.

Once you have an understanding of what the nature of a screenplay is and a full grasp of the concept of screenwriting, the screenplay format section of this site will breakdown how to format a screenplay and what the industry standards are for one.

The screenplay sample resource section of this site provides examples of screenplays for the writer to purchase, download and read. *note: I suggest obtaining and reading the screenplays of your favorite movies and movies that inspired you to be a writer. Reading how these movies were intially executed and seeing the difference between what was written and what actually ended up on the screen will provide tremendous insight as to how and why decisions are made in a film. It will also help you "cut the fat" and make your screenplay action tight and lean for its final draft.

If you are one of those hardworking, steadfast and fortunate souls who have finished your final draft, you can go to the screenwriting contests resource section of this site to enter your completed masterpiece in a variety of contests and compete with other literary giants!

The screenwriting software resource section breaks down the top ten screenwriting software programs and is complete with customer reviews. *note: If you have tried any of the software reviewed in this section, I urge you to add your input and review. Your input can be valuable to others who haven't worked on scriptwriting software and may be confused as to what program to choose.

For the writers who have overcome these screenwriting hurdles and are seasoned pros, semi-professional, or just willing to jump into the fray with no experience, I have something for you. The screenwriting jobs section will be a valuable resource for work in the entertainment industry and more specifically; the movie and film industry.

If you are a writer looking for help from a professional with your screenplay the screenwriting consultation resource section of this site will provide you with various professional services available from script advice and consultation.

One of the most valuable tools in your writing arsenal is the screenplay treatment. The treatment serves a dual purpose in that it not only helps you with an outline and overview of your film, but a tool for pitching your idea to potential investors and industry associates.

Not only does a screenplay have a format, but the treatment has one too (although not as clearly defined). The screenplay treatment format section will show you how a treatment is formatted and provide examples you can learn from and incorporate into your treatment as well!

As the quote goes, "Action is character. A person is what they do, not what they say." The character development section will help you build memorable and unforgettable characters for your screenplay that will hopefully capture and engage your reader and make them care about what happens to them.

After that...the rest is up to your imagination and your determination and your hard work. So jump right in and good luck with completing your final draft!
